Ford has released some of the specs for the 2019 Ford Ranger ahead of its launch later this year. Along with these specs, Ford has given us some great photos of the new Ranger which make us even more excited to see it enter our showroom and lot.
Well, if anything Ford has exceeded many of our expectations with the 2019 Ford Ranger. Ford has decided to put only the most premium engine in the 2019 Ford Ranger. Ford decided to go way above and beyond, placing their robust and reliable 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine in the light-duty truck.
While horsepower and torque output figures haven’t been shared by Ford yet, this engine averages 280 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque on other Ford vehicles, putting the 2019 Ranger in line with competing V6 models. This means that drivers get the best of both worlds – powerful torque numbers and efficiency.
This proven and athletic engine is mated to a class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission.
In their press release, Ford has also previewed the FX4 off-road package that adds upgraded tires, protective skid plates, specially-tuned shocks and suspension for off roading, Terrain Management System™ and Trail Control™.
The 2019 Ford Ranger will be available in two configurations – SuperCab or SuperCrew cab and will feature three trim levels – XL, XLT and Lariat.
